May 23, Oliver Radtke rated it it was amazing. I just finished reading "Splinter Cell" by Tom Clancy.

The book was about a spy who works for a secret agency in Washington. The main idea of the book was about a Chinese general who wants to invade Taiwan.

The general's name was Tun. He told the United States, if they get involved, then he was going to bomb them. The general set up three underwater nukes called barracuda's. Two of them were bogies, and one was the real bomb. Near the end of the book, they find where the nukes are and they disar I just finished reading "Splinter Cell" by Tom Clancy.

Near the end of the book, they find where the nukes are and they disarm the real one, and also help Taiwan against China. Sam Fisher was the main spy who works for the secret agency called, Third Echelon. Sam was about 40 years old, but he was very fit. Sam has been trying to capture general Tun for many years and has tried to stop the terrorist organization called, the Lucky Dragons. Katia took Sam out for his birthday and soon after that, they started hanging out and starting to develop a relationship.

After Sam comes back from a mission, he hung out with Katia for a day. He bought her clothes and then he even downloads her a necklace.

Sam has actually started to love her. They then went outside. While they were outside, Katia went to give him a kiss, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw two men in a white van with a rifle sticking out of the door.

He pushed Katia down to the ground just as he heard a gunshot. He realized that he is fine, but when he turned Katia over, she had been shot in the chest. He checked for a pulse and there was none.

He then had to flee due to him being a spy. From there on out, he sought his revenge from the Russian assassin. Even though he is his boss, he cared for Sam a lot. Coen was a field runner for Sam. She gave him vital information to help him on his missions, and keep him alive. If it was not for her, there probably would have been another world war due to the fact that they would not have been able to disarm the nuke from hitting the United States.

This book takes place in many different places in the world. Third Echelon, their secret agency, is located in Washington D. Sam Fisher goes to many places to find out information on enemies. He goes to Russia to find information on who is downloading nukes and military equipment.

He also travels to Japan and China to seek out and kill the general and assassin. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great book. Every page has action and is very intense. There is a lot of information that you know, but the other characters in the book do not know.

That makes it even more suspenseful. I will continue to read the rest of the series. View 1 comment. Oct 24, Taylor Berndt rated it it was ok. Tom Clancy did a great job of keeping the story alive and always keeping you on the edge of your seat. Yes you knew what was going to happen but how its going to happen was the part that kept you reading.

The story is about a secret agent named Sam Fisher who is tracking down the leaders of an arms dealing company named The Shop.

The Shop has been shipping parts of a nuclear bomb to a gang in Hong Kong. If Sam can't stop them the nuclear bomb will be fired at Taiwan. He has one daughter and his wife died of cancer a long time ago. He is in his late forties which makes him the oldest but most reliable agent in the group to track down the thieves.

Sam is always traveling so his personal life is scarce. He ends up meeting a martial arts instructor named Katia whom he later dates in the second half of the book which is the first time we see Sam vulnerable.

This story is in modern times with nothing different from today. It deals with big cities that have companies set up to hide The Shops dealings. The main theme of the book is that good always wins over evil. Its the fact that if you do something wrong there will always be consequences for your wrongdoings. I would recommend "Operation Barracuda" to eighth and beyond because some of the subject matter is hard to follow.

Also the book skips around characters and it is hard to keep straight who they are. Aug 23, Husein rated it did not like it. I enjoyed the first book very much and it's action packed chapters. There were a lot of things that were left blank until I started reading Operation Barracuda.

This is very much a script for a Hollywood movie that is completely pathetic. In order to show that Sam Fisher is a man of feelings we get a relationship between him and Katia his Krav Maga instructor. He has feelings He realizes his life and job are too d I enjoyed the first book very much and it's action packed chapters.

He realizes his life and job are too dangerous and plans to end this short lived relationship when out of nowhere a Russian hitman comes, aims for Sam, but Katia takes the bullet.

She is dead he is pissed off.

I saw this coming Sam is off to track some bad guy at LAX, but due to a diversion both he and the FBI lose the person OK, the novel cannot end after pages - another predictable scenario. Sam is off to Hong Kong to ask for help from the Triad leader, but this guy just listens to him and throws him out, but when Sam is caught and about to get killed by the Russian hitman, a loud explosion rocks the Chinese base and guess who came to the rescue The Lucky Dragon Triad.

At the end a nuclear bomb is off the coast of L. Sam cannot go into action to search for it because he is in bad shape. He is angry Pretty predictable and pathetic. Amo i videogiochi e i libri di splinter cell sono molto carini. Feb 28, Chance Olesak rated it it was amazing. The sequel to the 1st Splinter Cell really did an excellent job filling in some of the wholes in the story from the first.

The two really should be read in succession as they seam together quite nicely.

Again this one is in 1st person view unlike other Tom Clancy books. Same comments here as people are irked by the extremely, almost too, descriptive type of writing. Sarah goes on a trip with a classmate to Israel where she reunites with an old fling. Of course, she gets into trouble during her travels. Her sections of the story are narrated in third-person compared to Sam's first person. This is a great break from wandering too deep into the mind of a government spy. For the rest of this review, just keep reading.

What I love about this book is that the novels are based on the popular game series, rather than the game [being] based on the novel. Andrei Zdrok - year old leader. Eli pleaded to Fisher to let him live, and was spared by Fisher because of the cowardice Eli expressed on his face. Afterwards, Eli was captured by Shin Bet agents and taken to trial to account for his crimes; it is unknown what become of him afterwards.

In reality, it's him who leads, as Andrei Zdrok is too busy with the affairs of The Shop. He fears Zdrok, and doesn't know the existence of The Shop. Three hours after Andrei Zdrok ordered him to destroy Akdabar Enterprises, he took off from the warehouse of Obukhov, Ukraine.

Mazur dropped eight Kh missiles on the site, destroying it completely. However, Mazur was unable to eject from his plane as the ejection seat had been sabotaged by Stefan Prokofiev.
